The power of one connected child

When 10-year-old Peyton Walton was diagnosed with cancer, she needed a way to keep learning and to feel included with her peers at school.

That’s when Cisco found a way to help Peyton connect to the classroom from home or her hospital room. With video conferencing solutions, Peyton was able to learn virtually and engage with her classmates and teachers.

Peyton’s story opens up a world of possibilities for pediatric patients and other homebound students who are missing school and normality. After virtually connecting with Peyton, New Jersey’s Woodland School is now using collaboration technology to connect with classrooms across the country and scientists on the other side of the world.

With the help of enthusiastic, tech-minded educators, K–12 classrooms everywhere can begin to leverage technology for greater inclusion, engagement, and collaboration.

Give your classroom the world

Connecting the unconnected leads to some pretty amazing things. This is more than just having computers in classrooms. This is the power of digital in the hands of our greatest young minds.

Can technology change how we learn?

Whether it’s a fifth grade class having a video conversation with a NASA scientist or college students collaborating through virtual labs, the power of digitization enables active learning.

When students, educators, and outside experts are actively engaged and interacting with one another, education gets a whole lot bigger than the classroom. And that’s when students make big connections to big concepts.

This is your campus on digital

How do you empower a generation of college students that runs on digital? Give them the tools to collaborate, and they’ll break down barriers and extend the classroom beyond its traditional four walls.

At the University of Nebraska, students pursuing Masters in Education are using state-of-the-art tools to not only enhance their own learning, but to discover the best ways to use technology in their future classrooms as well.
